'Tis the Season for Christmas Cards!

Well we got our first Christmas card in the mail and I realized I have not even started ours yet!! That is when I thought of Shutterfly. They have so many great options to choose from and such cute designs. Here are some that I particularly like:

I love the option of the photo cards...such a great way to show off your family to everyone!

There are so many different color schemes available too (I tend to lean towards the reds). And, yes, our family Christmas card will say "Merry Christmas" somewhere on it...not just Happy Holidays!! But Shutterfly has options for everyone, no matter their beliefs.

If you are like me and have not started yet, check out their website, you will find something just for you! www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/holiday-cards

It does not stop with the Christmas photo cards though....they have so many options for any occasion throughout the year:
Such as Birthday cards for that someone special: www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/birthday-cards-stationery

Also, you can make Calendars and Wall Calendars: www.shutterfly.com/calendars/wall-calendars
And I can't forget to mention the option of Shutterfly's Photo Books: www.shutterfly.com/photo-books . What a great way to capture the memories of your children, vacation or wedding all in one photo book, without the hassle of putting the pictures in an album yourself!

I hope you all can find some great deals there too!

And then there were....

TWO more additions to the Voelkel Family!!

That's right.....pretty much anyone who reads this already knows....but, hey, I'm trying to catch up on my blog.

On Sat Sept 4th, we found out we were expecting! We were 3wks and 5 days at that point.

Here's the new family photo....we just told Wyatt....like he knows what's really going on!

We had our first appointment at 8 weeks...we got the doctor to try to hear the heartbeat (we knew it could be too early to hear yet, but we still wanted them to try!). The Dr. couldn't hear the heartbeat, so we got an ultrasound that day. The tech was kinda quiet at first, but then she said (very slowly by the way)...."this is the first time in 20yrs that I've been doing this that I've told two women in one day that they're having TWINS!!!" I cried initially, then began laughing....surge of emotions!!! AJ was there with me....we were in shock...we could see both little beans in there and could see and hear their hearts beating...they were both healthy!! That's all I truly cared about....now for the twin thing to sink in!

We went back to the Dr. at 12 weeks and we got another ultrasound so that they could hear and see the heart beats....everything's going great!! That is such an amazing thing to hear! But boy had they changed....in just 4weeks they went from two little beans to two babies with recognizable heads, hands, arms, legs, feet!!! Crazy what 4 weeks can mean in terms of pregnancy!

We just went to the Dr. again this week for our 16week appt and everything's still going great! We didn't get to have an ultrasound this time (which AJ was quite upset about....he just wanted to see the little ones....and of course I did too, but whatever the doctor says)...we were hoping that we would get an ultrasound and might possibly be able to tell the genders....but nooooo....we have to wait! But they could hear both heartbeats with the doppler. I did have my cervix checked with an ultrasound and they could see one of the baby's limbs kicking around down there (must be why I feel so much pressure!!!)....so that was something I guess. Now we will go back on Dec 27th and we will have the big ultrasound where they look at all the anatomy and we will be able to find out the genders!!! Can't wait!!

Oh, and I know you're just dying to see ultrasound pics....I will post those soon :)

The BEAST

We have had my couch from college as our only seating in our living room....and since it's just an oversized loveseat (that's right, just two cushions) AJ and I have had a hard time snuggling up on it.....and it's not a recliner....something that I now mandate since i'm on my feet ALL day long!! SO, we got AJ his Beast chair! It's made by Best furniture out of Ferdinand, IN. It's the largest recliner on the market....it's made especially for a 6'4" 400lb guy!!

Unfortunately I know he's going to fill this chair way too fast!!

What's been going on....

Wyatt continues to amaze us every single day! He is such a happy baby...he is always smiling and laughing and loves to "talk" to us. He loves it when we sing to him....and his favorite toy right now is Scout....who knows his name! He grows every single day.....he will be taller than mommy soon I'm sure! He has a great time with Granny Susan every day and we swear sometimes he'd rather keep her at home than have AJ and I there!
We can't wait for the warmer weather....I just can't wait to take him for walks in his stroller!
This month is crazy busy for AJ.....he is on at the MICU at University hospital and is on call overnight every 4th night :( But next month will be bad for me......I will be on ortho again :(
I'm still able to nurse Wyatt, but it's getting harder and harder to keep up with him....not only is he eating more but it's hard for me to pump consistently at work. We will take him back to the doc for his 4 month checkup and shots next month and there we will discuss introducing real foods! Once he starts getting real foods I might not need to nurse as much or at all....I'm excited in a way so that I'm not a slave to the pump but I know I will also miss nursing him (just as I really miss being pregnant with him)...crazy I know. But we love the little guy bunches!!
Check out these cute pics of the cutest baby ever :)
