Days go by.....

Well AJ and I got to spend another weekend together...I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband!! We were supposed to meet up with some friends on Friday night here in Louisville, but I unfortunately was in surgery and didn't leave the hospital until 10:30pm (got up at 6am and finished that late...awesome!! :( Amanda came all the way down here from Michigan for the weekend and I didn't get to see her and probably won't until next year :( Sorry Amanda!! Four of the Fab 5 were supposed to get together, but it turns out only 2 got together....thank you Sheila for not making me feel so bad about missing Friday night!
Anyhoo...AJ MAY be able to start in Louisville earlier than next July....he's been talking with the Internal Medicine dept at UofL and they are seeing what they can do to get him to start earlier than next July...trust me I'm praying that he can come down here ASAP!!! It's not so easy being apart from your spouse week after week....at least we have the weekends I guess.
We didn't do too much this weekend....slept in until 10am on Sat morning (hey, Friday was a LONG day!!), we ate lunch at Buckhead's, saw the movie Saw V, went to church, then went home and watched some of the Halloween movies that were on cable.....Sunday morning I had surgery @ 8am, then we ate at Wick's and then did some shopping....then my hubby left me :( That's always the worst part of the weekends!! I hate watching the back of his car as he drives away back to Indy :(
Well, it's time to start another week...the weeks go by better knowing I get to see my hubby at the end of the week!! Unfortunately Bob is on call all this week....so here goes another week with no sleep....pray no one breaks their hip or any other bone this week!!!

Back to reality

Well AJ and I had a great weekend in Indy. We put up the dry wall in the garage....we did an awesome job working together...and we had help from our friends CJ and Sarah. I must say I was nervous doing a project like that together...I could just see us blowing up at each other the first time he yelled at me for not doing something right....but we did well, he didn't even yell at me when I drove the screws all the way through the drywall or completely missed the stud...I think having CJ and Sarah had alot to do with him keeping quiet though :) No, really, we worked really well together!
And now we're back to reality...back to ortho trauma and he's back to MBA classes. AJ submitted his residency application today....so much closer to interviewing with UofL....so much closer to hopefully being in the same city!!
The attending for my ortho trauma rotation is quite the 2 yr old (I'll call him Bob)...Bob can take anything and make it dirty....you can't say "number 2", "swallow", "screw", "hard", "wet" within context of a regular sentence without him turning it into something dirty...it's CONSTANT!! he doesn't miss a beat
And Bob farts all the time in surgery....as a matter of fact, today before a case was about to start, he rips one and then runs out of the OR saying he needs to go check himself....YUCK!!
Putting all this aside though, Bob really is a great guy and a great attending....you can't hardly find a surgeon more laid back than him.
Oh, has anyone ever heard of "slaw" or "coleslaw" in a context outside of food? I found out today.....again, yuck!

Ready for the weekend!

Well, I'm on my orthopedic trauma rotation right now and luckily my attending is not on call this weekend!! YAY!! First weekend in a long time for him. So, he is giving me the weekend off as well and I can finally head up to see AJ in Indy rather than him having drive down here...first time since July!!
We have big plans....since we will putting the house up for sale soon we have some MAJOR work to do to get it ready! i.e. dry wall the garage, fix windows, fix doors, etc. I guess it's not too major, but just odds and ends stuff that we tolerated and now actually need to fix to hopefully get a good return on the house.

We're back!

Hello everyone! Our wedding website that we used to have is now officially deleted...yes we were too cheap to continue paying for it! So we have now moved on to the free blogging sites!

We are both extremely busy and only see each other on the weekends...hopefully that will change soon!! I am doing my residency in Louisville while AJ is finishing his MD/MBA in Indianapolis....yes, we have (combined) officially put ourselves in about half a million dollars of debt...that's awesome given the current economic situation!! We will never get to retire at this rate! Oh, that takes me to tell you about my personal goal...to win the lottery! Hundreds (thousands??) have done it already...so why can't I?!!
